Chinatown, Los Angeles
Kleverdog Coworking is located in the heart of vibrant, colorful, diverse and tasty Chinatown, Los Angeles. Just a block north of the Central Plaza where the gates of Chinatown (pictured above) front Hill Street on the West and Broadway Avenue on the East. Chinatown has many inexpensive and delicious restaurants, art galleries, curio/antique stores, and of course, colorful architecture. The Hill Street exit off the 110 South takes you right into Chinatown, and the 5, 10 and 101 freeways are all easily accessible. The Gold Line station is just two blocks away and the Metro Bus and Dash have multiple routes and stops up and down Hill and Broadway.
There’s a wide variety of cuisine to be found in and around Chinatown — Chinese (different regions), Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Mexican, Italian, and American. Try a French Dip sandwich at famous Philippes or some slippery shrimp at Yang Chow. Boba Tea at Lollicup is a favorite as well as the Pho at Pho Broadway. Don’t forget to get your Dim Sum fix next door at Empress Pavilion and some tasty desserts at Phoenix Bakery.
Speaking of restaurants, Kleverdog is in the same building that used to be a Chinatown fixture, General Lee’s (Man Jen Low). Man Jen Low opened in 1878 and was originally located in old Chinatown (where Union Station is now) and moved to new Chinatown in the 1930s. Although the restaurant closed in the 80′s, many people still have fond memories of the excellent meals they’ve enjoyed here.
